Action Haiti: Earthquake Relief Campaign

These words are the National Motto of Haïti. The natural catastrophe that occurred on January 12, 2010, has generated great concern for the people of Haïti. As the details of the devastation are uncovered and communicated via continuous news coverage, many of us are moved to action. It is in these times of despair and uncertainty that we must join forces to provide support and strength to those who are impacted.
Powered by Action and the Carma Foundation have united to establish the Action Haïti – Earthquake Relief Campaign. This campaign has one simple goal – to provide humanitarian aid to specific communities of survivors who have been impacted by the earthquake. Through your generous donation, the campaign will be able to procure, transport and deliver medical supplies, clothing, food, water and other essentials to Haïti. With your support, we will be able to not only impact the immediate needs, but as importantly, ensure that the support is ongoing as it will take time for the recovery and rebuilding effort.
The Carma Foundation has established a tent city approximately 15 minutes from the airport in the Croix des Bouquets suburb of Port-au-Prince in Village Theodat. At this location, we have 140 families who have migrated to the camp, which represents approximately 600 people who are in need and waiting on aide. In addition, 100 orphans from the Carma House orphanage located in Leogane, Haiti survived the earthquake, even though the orphanage itself was destroyed. The Earthquake Relief Campaign will harvest necessary aid to support these families and orphans.
